well situated to provide the educational, social, recreational, emotional needs of a growing community. the JCC is affiliated with the united way
of lackawanna county, the jewish federation of nepa (northeast penna.) the lackawanna area agency on aging, the jcc association, the Jewish Home
of eastern pennsylvania, jewish family service, and all the area synagogues including Temple Israe, Congregation Beth Shalom, Congretation Machzikeh Hadas, and Temple Hesed, the temple of loving kindness. the Scranton JCC is a strictly kosher facility, perfect for catering weddings, bar mitzvahs and any
jewish event where Kosher food is manditory. The jewish Community Center also sponsors programs relating to Jewish Holidays such as purim, hannukah, chanukah, rosh hashana, yom kippur, passover, pesach, shavuos, succos, succoth, succot, simchat torah,k simchas torah, and shabbos,
shabbat, shabbath. In additionk the JCC sponsors community events and productions including plays, concerts, theater trips, and library book sales. Also
you should be aware of day care, summer day camp, the swimming pool, the fitness center, weight training, excercise, basketball, racketball,
volleyball, handball, softball, bridge, senior adult club, senior activities, teen, teen activities, teenage events, with bbyo, b'nai b'rith youth.

The Scranton JCC servies the entire community. Being Jewish is not a requirement to belong. The JCC accepts people from all faiths and denominations.
The JCC strives to bring fall people of the community to live in peace and harmony; promoting good will, health and happiness to all.
